How to Plan...It's easy!! Just follow the following steps and leave the rest to us!!

  1. Contact us to discuss towards the availability of your desired villa, costs and your desired Wedding date and time.
    We will secure your wedding date and time with the Mayors' office and send you your confirmation.

    From our experience, the atmosphere becomes really amazing when the wedding family occupies all villas. Porta del mar turns into a small family village where all members of the family can enjoy, drink and sing without any fear to sacrifice other guests' s privacy. Therefore, if you are a family or friends group, we strongly recommend that you rent all the villas for your special occasion.


    In respect to the additional services, our team would be pleased to provide you with all detailed information and introduce you to the most experienced and high-skilled professionals all over Zakynthos island. Here is a list you can choose from the services most suitable to your needs and styles:

    • Flowers and decorations: Bridal bouquet, Groom’s boutonniere, flower petal shower etc.
    • Wedding Cake, Fresh and nice, Ice-cream cake etc.
    • Photography: Wedding albums, Photo or Video production, Wedding story books, made and montaged by most-experienced photographers.
    • Music: Professional DJ or/and your music in our Bar.

  2. Make your reservation with us.

  3. Gather all the necessary documentation and send it to us by courier, fax or e-mail. We should receive documents 21 days prior to your wedding date. If you send documents by fax or email, do not forget to bring the originals with you.

    The following documents are required to perform a legal Civil Wedding in Zakynthos or elsewhere in Greece :
    FOR EUROPEAN UNION CITIZENS:
    • Birth Certificates with an APOSTILLE stamp, translated into Greek.
    • A "Single Status" letter or letter of NO IMPENDIMENT endorsed with APOSTILLE stamp.
    "Single Status" is a document issued from your local Registrar and insures that there is no problem to get married.
    • Photocopies of passports (no translation required).
    • If divorced, then the divorce certificate is required (no translation required).

  1. Where do we obtain the marriage license?
    You will sign the legal marriage license after the wedding ceremony and we will collect it form the Mayors' office the following day and deliver it to you.
  2. Is our civil marriage in Greece and Zakynthos legal?
    Yes, The Marriage Certificate is a legal document issued by The Greek Government and accepted internationally.
  3. Do you arrange religious weddings in Zakynthos?
    Yes, We do arrange catholic (in Saint Marcos Catholic Church – Zante Town ) and orthodox weddings. Please contact us for the necessary details.
  4. Where can we have our Wedding Reception?
    Our place is among the BEST of the Island. You may choose from various nice spots in our gardens or down in the beach. However, if you prefer it somewhere else, we will propose several venues and specialized wedding coordinators that will settle everything according to your wishes.
  5. When do we receive our photos?
    Photos will be developed the following day and we will deliver them to you.
  6. We don't have two witnesses for the ceremony. Is this to worry about?
    No problem, we will provide the witnesses.
  7. What is the best time to perform the ceremony?
    2 hours before sunset. The camera captures gentle & romantic colors. Daytime is too hot for you and too bright for a camera.

We stayed here 2nd to 9th Sept for a family wedding. I can honestly say I have never stayed in such a pretty, clean and relaxed place as this. The Rigas family make you feel welcome from the minute you arrive to the minute you leave. They are always on hand (without being intrusive) to offer advice, have a chat or organise taxis, trips etc. Kostas organised return transfers for us to the airport which were very reasonable and reliable, he also organised transport for us whenever we needed it. The villas are lovely, clean and comfortable, we had 5 of the 8 villas and were all very happy with them. The gardens are beautiful and very well looked after, the seating areas near the bar have fantastic views. The beach is just down the steps with sun beds, canoes etc. provided. The wedding was lovely and well organised by the family, fantastic food and setting. The hairdresser, photographer and cake lady were all organised by the family and everything was perfect. I cannot think of any negatives at all, Porta del Mar is perfect. There is even the cutest dog you have ever seen, tapas, who kept us amused. 6 of the 11 of us who went have already booked villas for next year.

my friends had a wedding here, was amazing, very helpful, friendly, food was fantastic. great beach, free kayaks, snorkelling equipment. Everything I'd want, and I may even have my own wedding their same time next year. I recommend the pancake special and the Greek coffee, extra strong and medium sweet

we organised our wedding by email and we hired the whole place for our week. it exceeded our expectations, were met with wonderful service and hosts in kostas, pavlina and tasos and all 29 of us had the best week of our lives. we would go back for sure and recommend anyone to hold their wedding there. very personnal , easy and out of this world. the kids had park and beach and we all felt they were very safe. grass areas to play and mingle and it has everything we could ask for. villas were stunning as were views and the pizza night, bbq and greek night were great. family went out of their way to look for my lost nan who went off wondering, helped with florist and town all trips and could not have done more to make our week exceptional. i recommend to hire all for friends and family anbd if thinking of wedding baroad, do it here- dream location and worth every penny-well under 2000 euros for all-BARGAIN. as a 3 year old said with us- mummy i am so happy here. as a 9 year old said with us-daddy it is like paradise being here isnt it? come and see for yourself, you will not be disapointed!

First of all apologies to the Kosta's, Taso's & Pavlina for taking so long to write this! We have had so many things going on. Porta Del Mar is amazing, we spent one week here in May 12-19 2012, we got married on 16th May, it was a beautiful hot sunny day (we have included some wonderful pictures). In total there were 16 of us staying that week. The Riga's family were very welcoming and made us and our own families feel part of their own. They went out of their way to provide us with everything we wanted. There is nothing we could provide a bad comment too, everything for us was made so special, we loved it and so did our families!! My wife Jana and I highly recommend Porta Del Mar to anyone wanting a Wedding to remember, or that special romantic break away. Special thanks to Kostas for the late night bar, a special friend for me personally, no more tears! Also special thanks to Pavlina for all of the wedding planning and driving, we will never forget! My husband and I spent a week here for our honeymoon in October and had a fantastic time. It was a week of pure relaxation which is exactly what we were looking for. Our hosts, Kostas, Tasos and Pavlina were wonderful and really cared about making our stay as perfect as possible. The location was idylic and our accommodation cozy and romantic. Kostas is also an excellent cook and my husband is still dreaming of the omlettes he made us for breakfast! A huge thank you to the whole family and I hope we will be able to return soon.

We have just returned from Porta del Mar Villas and our experience was unbeatable. Beautiful location.... paradise and the Villas are exquisite. Our daughter was married at the villas on August 1st and it was a wonderful wedding and reception. The Rigas family were so accomodating and helpful and the wedding went without a hitch. Fantastic time had by young and old at Porta Del Mar. Tascos, Pavlina, Eleni and Costa welcomed us to their wonderful villas, we booked 5 villas and all the villas were comfortable and wonderfully traditional. The grounds were well kept and flowers.trees and shrubs absoloutly beautiful. Pond with resident turtle a real hit with the children and also the big kids. Must not forget Big Eyes the most beautiful cat on all of the Greek Islands. The beach was very safe for the children and just down the steps from the gardens. The bar was well stocked also breakfasts and lunches very well received. Good time was had by all at the Pizza and Barbeque Nights. The highlight of our holiday had to be Julie and Fim's wedding. Pavlina decorated the gardens and villas with ribbons, netting , bows and lanterns, everywhere looked beautiful. Wedding under the gazebo was stunning, photos are absolutly beautiful. The whole family were involved with wedding celebrations they could not do enough for us. Wedding meal and reception was 100% enjoyed by all guests. We will be going back to Porta Del Mar in the future, hopefully for a reunion. Would recommend Porta Del Mar for a relaxing holiday

An absolute perfect honeymoon and most likely the best vacation we've ever had. Porta del Mar is a secluded getaway that will strip away a years worth of rat race tension within a day. The entire property was beautiful....flowers, massive palms, banana plants...i must have spent hours gazing at the hummingbirds collecting nectar from the hibiscus flowers on our terrace (while i lazily consumed my own nectar: Callinico- Ampelo Ravdi....quite a nice white wine we found at a local vineyard).
Compliments to Tasos and family for creating this gem with an impressive attention to detail. We've been back for more than 2 weeks now and people are still commenting on how relaxed we look.

My new wife and I arranged to have our wedding at 'Porta Del Mar' following a recommendation from a colleague of mine and a bit of research. What we got was a piece of paradise to hold the perfect wedding. On arrival, Tasos met us at 5am and provided coffee and tea and a very warm welcome. The grounds were breath taking and the atmosphere was extremely laid back. We had a great weeklong build up to our wedding and Tasos, Pavlina and their family made us feel so welcome and at ease. They catered to 30+ guests and gave us a day (and party) to remember.

The traditional stone villas are stunning, the grounds were maintained beautifully and Pavlina decorated our villa and the grounds on the day of our wedding. We truly felt spoiled and the personal attention to detail made us feel really special. We could really not speak highly enough of this resort or it’s owners and we would not hesitate to recommend Porta Del Mar to anyone, be it for a week of complete R&R or for an occasion such as a wedding.

Personally, My wife and I, would like to thanks Tasos, Pavlina, Elina, Kostas and their employees for all the effort they made to ensure everything was organised whilst we simply enjoyed our holiday. Nothing was a bother and we can not wait to come back. My new in-laws have already arranged to return early next year.
